For the week of January 13th-17th:

* Wednesday, Jan. 15th is our first PAC meeting of the new year. Please join us for a special guest speaker at 6:30pm in the school staff room.
Gillian Corless, a Lord Roberts parent from UBC’s Human Early Learning Partnership, will discuss the latest research findings on Vancouver students. Using the results from the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI), we will take a look at how Grade 7 students felt about living in the West End and going to Lord Roberts, including their:
• Social and Emotional Development
• Physical Health and Well-Being
• Connectedness to Adults and Peers
• School Experiences
• Use of After-School Time
These 5 are critical components of development and are strongly linked to well-being, health, academic achievement, and success throughout the school years and in later life.

We hope everyone can come join us for this time of learning about our students and how to help our students and our school.

*Thursday, Jan. 16th is Parent Coffee in the 4th floor counselor’s office at 9-10:15am.
GUEST SPEAKERS: Jean Fougere and Andrea Arnot from SACY
(School Aged Children and Youth Drug and Alchohol Prevention Initiative)

Andrea and Jean will discuss what SACY is all about and answer questions.

Have a great week!
